Billingham Manor (or Billingham House) has its oldest part of the premises dating from 1631. It’s most noted resident was the author J.B. Priestley. It is considered to be ‘one of the island's antiquities’ and has Grade II* listed status. However, many regard it as the most haunted house on the Isle of Wight. More than one apparition, including a monk, as well as the smell of Madonna Lilies, are reported there.
